The Los Angeles Shelby American Automobile Club will be hosting it's world-famous open track event at the Streets of Willow Springs on Saturday, June 16, 2018. The driver's fee for the day will be $135 members / $145 non-members.

We will be starting the day as early as possible... so everyone gets maximum track-time... approximately 8 AM till 5 PM... which translates to 6 or 7 twenty-minute sessions per run group thru-out the day... and, yes... we will once again be running "the bowl" configuration. All makes of cars are welcome... owning a Shelby or Ford is not a requirement,

Our driving instructors volunteer their time and they are made available to everyone at no additional charge. Two of our instructors, Bruce Kawaguchi and Dan Walters, have been VARA B-Production Champions. We have maintained a problem-free and safe record of track operation due to our diligent oversight and focus on safety. Other organized track events have not been as problem free.

We run three run groups: Beginner / Intermediate / Advanced and limit attendance to avoid over-crowding on the track. We offer an opportunity for any level of experience to come out and have a great time in a safe environment. We provide experienced corner-workers to let you know of any potential problems while you're out on the track... others do not.

Safety is still our most important consideration. ..

We require the car owner to attest to the safety of their vehicle using our "self-tech" form... we then provide tech inspection at the track to double-check your vehicle for safe operation. Don't forget your SNELL approved, SA-2010 or later rated helmet and a *fire extinguisher, securely mounted with a metal bracket (no bungee cords or Zip Ties) to SOMETHING SUBSTANTIAL, within driver's reach. Two throttle return springs (on carbureted cars only). Convertibles must have a rollbar.

Please read the Requirements on the application form. Willow Spring's gates open at 7AM. Saturday's tech inspection is from 7ish to 8AM, the mandatory driver's meeting is at 8:15AM. We will have instructors available at the track and there's no extra charge for this, please use their expertise, they're there to help you.

* The fire extinguisher must be securely mounted, within easy reach of the driver. Install using only a metal bracket... a plastic bracket can break while on the track and then you could have a loose, heavy projectile shooting around within your car.

Some of our extinguishers have been installed in front of the passenger seat without drilling any holes in the vehicle... we've fabricated a sheet metal piece and used the seat mounting bolts at the front of the seat to secure it. Others have located theirs on the seat adjustment handle on the passenger seat using hose clamps... making sure the seat is not able to slide back and forth while driving at speed. Any bolt that holds a seat belt or a seat bracket can be a location to make a mounting bracket and then attach the extinguisher to the bracket. Even lifting the plastic or metal cover on a door-sill could reveal a couple of screws to mount the bracket to. You can also install the metal bracket directly onto the floor of the car... just make sure it is secure and you don't drill thru "something important" on the other side! ; )

Spectators are welcomed and encouraged to come watch!
